The Management and Coordination unit provides administrative guidance by overseeing the internal NHAC initiatives including Training, Financial Services, and Media & Technology as well as the National Strategic Analysis Initiative consisting of Domestic Highway Enforcement, Marijuana Impact Group, and the Drug Threat Analysis Group. The NHAC also oversees the Overdose Response Strategy. The NHAC Director also participates in a number of HIDTA committees.

The Management & Coordination unit also provides administrative support to all 33 HIDTAs, the HIDTA Directors Committee (HDC) and interfaces with the Office of National Drug Control Strategy (ONDCP) to carry out their mission in alignment with the National Drug Control Strategy.
