Course Details
This workshop is designed to educate investigators on the value a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Off-line search can provide. Law enforcement personnel conduct online inquiries of the NCIC and can quickly retrieve accurate information, thereby increasing the probability of criminal detection. However, in certain investigative situations, an online inquiry alone may be inadequate, and agencies may need to request a NCIC Off-line search of the database. This one-hour NCIC Off-line workshop will: • Show how off-line searches can assist an investigator in locating a piece of property, determine the proximity of an individual to a crime scene, substantiate or discredit an alibi, or trace the route of a person of interest. •The workshop will also highlight on proven techniques, case examples, and success stories.
