Palestra Group International is presenting a one-day course on Organized Retail Crime Syndicates (ORCS) and the law enforcement action needed to identify and dismantle these criminal groups. Reaching critical mass, these criminal groups are operating throughout the United States defrauding retailers, posing a physical threat to customers/employees, and reducing available merchandise needed to sustain a healthy economy. Post pandemic, ORCS have exploded costing retailers billions of dollars forcing them to close retail locations and pass financial losses onto the customer. Using on-line auction sites and person-to-person classified platforms, these groups are netting profits, which fuel other criminal enterprises such as narcotics, firearm, and human trafficking. As these groups become more violent using “Smash and Grab” and “Flash Mob” tactics, they are using other violent means and weapons to protect and defend against capture and prosecution.
