HIDTA Analytical Technique CD Technical Support

A. System requirement for playing this CD:
  1. Pentium processor or higher
  2. 32MB of RAM or higher
  3. Windows 95 Operating System or later
  4. 16 bit color display
  5. 4X CD-ROM drive
  6. Sound card ( Sound Blaster compatible)
  7. Speakers or headphone
B. Instructions:

To use the program insert the CD into your CD-ROM Drive. The “HIDTA Analytical Techniques” program will open up on your screen automatically. Print the workbook first. Then install "HAT" on your computer for best performance. If the program does not open after a few seconds, follow the steps below to open it.

  1. Open “My Computer” on your computer Desktop. Double click on CD-ROM drive (or the disk drive with name of “HAT”) to open it. Double click on “welcome.exe” file.
  2. On the welcome screen you can browse “Read Me First”, install “HAT”, print workbook or play the “HAT” program directly from the CD by simply clicking your mouse. Print the workbook first.
  3. You can choose to install this program on your hard drive or play this program from the CD directly. For the best performance, we suggest you install this program on your hard drive, especially if you are using laptops or older desktop computers. Quit any unnecessary programs that are running in the background.
  4. If you install this program, you need at least 280MB of free space on your hard drive. Click on the "Install" button on the welcome screen and follow the on-screen instructions. When the installation is complete, a folder called "HAT_CD" will be on your Desktop. Double-click on the file "Start_HAT.exe" to begin.
  5. If you play this program from the CD, please make sure your computer has the "QuickTime" driver installed. If you do not have "QuickTime" installed or you are not sure, click on "Play the program from CD" button and then choose "NO" to install "QuickTime". When the installation is complete, you can go back to the welcome menu and click on "Play the program from CD " again.
  6. We suggest you print the CD workbook before starting the program. You can print the CD workbook by clicking "Print Workbook" button. The CD workbook includes a cover letter from the NHAC Director, Course Instruction, Course Examination and Evaluation Form.

C. Student Number:

Your student number is generated by using the two digit alpha code for each HIDTA plus the first three letters of your last name and 4 numbers between 0 and 9. For example, John Smith of the Los Angeles HIDTA may have the following student number: lasmi1234. The Student number will be case sensitive and must be entered in lower case only.
