Position: HIDTA Regional Domestic Highway Enforcement Deputy Coordinator

Compensation: Equivalent to the annual rate for a GS 12 Step 1-5 as described below

The National HIDTA Assistance Center (NHAC) is currently seeking a qualified individual to assist the DHE Chair, nine (9) designated DHE Regional Coordinators (HIDTA Directors), and Regional Domestic Highway Enforcement Senior Coordinator in coordinating regional domestic highway enforcement activities that include but are not limited to:

• Assist in planning and developing DHE related meetings/conferences as requested by nine (9) DHE Regional Coordinators, DHE Chair, or Regional DHE Senior Coordinator (contractor)

• Assist in developing, documenting, disseminating DHE related material and best practices

• Assist in maintaining/improving an outreach program to maintain frequent contact with DHE participants; enhance networking and team building between state agencies and between state agencies and the intelligence/investigative centers (ISCs/EPIC)

• Prepare and disseminate letter/e-mails to all DHE participants, insuring those communications are received, and responding to participants queries concerning DHE meetings/activities

• Prepare/provide briefings in support of the DHE Strategy as requested/directed

• Assist the developing/implementing the DHE process with an “All Crimes, All Threats, All Hazards” approach

• Assist in selecting a venue for meetings and ensuring facility meets needs, i.e., audio/video equipment, support personnel, breakout rooms, hotel rooms, transportation, etc.

• Liaising with hotel and/or venue personnel as well as attendees and guests to ensure needs are met

• Assist in developing an agenda, i.e., acquiring a guest speaker, other presenters, etc.

• Facilitating the flow of  operational planning meetings as requested

• Acting as Master of Ceremonies of the event if so directed

• Respond to requests for assistance/information from participating agencies as directed

• Develop innovative concepts to improve the regional HIDTA Domestic Highway Enforcement Strategy and process

• Establish an outreach program to be utilized to increase federal, state, and local law Enforcement participation in the DHE program

• Be prepared to travel within the continental United States on a weekly/bi-weekly basis as required

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Five (5) years of experience working in either law enforcement, military intelligence or the National HIDTA Program

Ability to write clear and concise communications

Ability to clearly and concisely orally communicate with others

Ability to coordinate high-level and highly attended conferences and regional meetings across the country

Ability to perform extensive travel throughout the country

Ability to obtain a “Secret” security clearance

Compensation:

This is an annually renewed contract position based on available funding and need.  Compensation will be based on a daily rate and Contractor’s invoices will be paid twice each month according to the appropriate GS-12 locality pay scale.  In addition, the contractor will receive up to a 30 percent benefit compensation package.

Note: Consideration will be given to post secondary education.
